Adoption Day

The D.C. Superior Court’s Family Court and the D.C. Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) will co-host the 23rd Annual Adoption Day on Saturday, November 21, 2009, the day on which National Adoption Day is being celebrated across the country. At the D.C. event, over 30 children will be introduced to the audience along with their adoptive parents by local news anchor Barbara Harrison. They will come forward and their judge will sign the adoption decree officially making them part of a permanent loving family.

Anyone in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area who is interested in adoption or foster care is encouraged to attend this free event, which will take place at 10am on November 21, with a reception afterwards. Representatives from CFSA will be there to speak with interested persons about foster parenting and adoption. There are dozens of children in foster care, in need of a 'forever family.' We hope you will join us for this very special event. For more information, and a flyer you may distribute to anyone you think might be interested, please click here.

If you are unable to attend, but interested in fostering or adopting, please call CFSA at (202) 671-LOVE. If you know of a child in D.C. who you fear is being neglected or abused, please call CFSA at (202) 671-SAFE.
