DCCA has scheduled oral arguments to take place in the Moot Courtroom at the David A. Clarke School of Law on January 15, 2012. Cases to be argued include Ramon Estopina v. Susan O’Brian, Travis Littlejohn v. United States, and Louis Monteilh v. AFSCME, AFL-CIO. This scheduling of offsite oral arguments is the first of two sessions to be held at area law schools as part of the Court’s education outreach initiative. The next set of off-site oral arguments will take place at Howard University on January 29, 2013. This education outreach initiative grew out of the collaborative efforts of Chief Judge Washington and the local area law school deans in an effort to enhance the real-world litigation experience of local law students. The judges will participate in several activities with the students, including a Q & A session immediately following the arguments.
PRESS NOTE: The Court of Appeals’ rule prohibiting televising or video-taping oral arguments will remain in effect.
