Steven N. Berk to be sworn in as DC Superior Court judge

A new judge is being sworn in as a judge of the DC Superior Court.

Steven N. Berk will be sworn in Friday. Berk was born in Lincolnwood, Illinois, and earned his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He has a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and a law degree from Boston College Law School.

According to a biography provided by the court, Berk spent a year at the Securities and Exchange Commission and five years at the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. At one point he was the founder of an internet startup called iHappen. He has volunteered as a docent at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and started a hockey club for children with special needs.
