Elizabeth McGrail, J.D., re-joined CAIR Coalition in October 2008 as Legal Director. She previously worked as CAIR Coalition’s Detention Project Director from 2005-2007.   Prior to joining CAIR Coalition, Liz was a solo immigration practitioner for eleven years (1994 - 2005).  From 1991 - 1994, Liz was an associate at the immigration law firm of Wasserman, Mancini & Chang.  She received her J.D. from William & Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 1989 and her B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1985.  Ms. McGrail’s professional awards include Attorney Mentor of the Year, Whitman-Walker Clinic, Legal Services, Washington, D.C., 1996 and The Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force, Recognition Award, 2003.
