Sara Gold, J.D.,
is currently the Pro Bono Manager at the law firm of
Howrey LLP. Prior to joining Howrey, she was a
Visiting Associate Professor in the Domestic Violence Clinic
at Georgetown University Law Center where she taught and
supervised law students representing indigent victims of
family abuse in D.C. Superior Court. She joined the
faculty at Georgetown in the summer of 2008 after ten years
practicing in the field of child welfare. Prior
to joining the Clinic, Ms. Gold represented the D.C.
government and the Child and Family Services Agency in child
abuse and neglect cases in D.C. Superior Court. She
served as Acting Deputy of the Family Services Division of
the Office of the Attorney General, where she oversaw the
management and operation of the Domestic Violence and four
Child Protection Sections. During her tenure at the
Office of the Attorney General, Ms. Gold also served as
Chief of the Child Protection Section and, prior to that,
trial attorney.
Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General, Ms. Gold was an associate at the law firm of Winston & Strawn in New York where she specialized in federal court employment litigation. She has served on various child-welfare related committees including the Family Court Implementation Committee and its Abuse and Neglect Subcommittee, the Child Welfare Leadership Team, and has served as a Board Member of the Family Intervention Project. Ms. Gold attended the University of Michigan and received her J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
