Susan E. Folwell, LCSW, LICSW, B.C.D.V., is a psychotherapist and domestic violence program manager at The Women’s Center, a metro DC non-profit counseling and resource center.  Licensed to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia, Ms. Folwell has a private clinical and consulting practice in addition to her work at The Women’s Center.  She has researched family violence and abuse for over 20 years, and is board certified in domestic violence by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the National Center for Crisis Management.  Ms. Folwell writes customized curriculum and provides workshops and trainings on the effects of interpersonal violence and family abuse.  Her appearances have included NBC Channel 4’s Viewpoint, Howard University radio, a number of universities, law schools, and national and regional organizations.  She is certified as an expert witness by the Fairfax County JDR Courts, and is an active member of domestic violence and mental health task forces in the metro DC area.
