- If you need help completing an application or have questions about your application, staff is available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in-person or by telephone at (202) 879-4216.
- Eligible claimants can pick up food and metro cards at 515 5th Street, NW, Washington DC 20001, at the following times:
- Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Compensable expenses include, but are not limited to, funeral and burial costs, medical and mental health expenses, lost wages, loss of support, crime scene clean up, and temporary emergency shelter and relocation. Crime Victims Compensation staff conduct interviews to determine needs and process claims. The Crime Victims Compensation Program is funded by fines and fees paid to the DC Courts.
