How can I file with the court?

If you are not represented by an attorney, you may file your paperwork in person or by mail to the Tax Division, 500 Indiana Avenue, N.W., Room 4100, Washington, DC 20001; electronically through eFile DC: eFileDCSuperiorCourt.gov; or after-hours drop-box located at the Information Booth on the first floor of the Moultrie Courthouse. If you are represented by an attorney, your filing must be electronically filed.

What if Mediation doesn’t work?

If you have already filed a case with the court, your case will continue to move forward with your scheduled court hearings. Your next court hearing could be a pretrial conference, a hearing, or a trial. If you do not reach an agreement in mediation, the outcome of the mediation will affect your case. The mediator cannot be called to testify in court. The mediator cannot tell anyone about the discussions you had during mediation. Additionally, the mediator destroys their notes at the end of your mediation.
