Community Information & Referral

How do I…

Determine how best to find a solution to my problem?
The Community Information and Referral Program (CIRP) at Multi-Door has trained Dispute Resolution Specialists to assist residents of the District of Columbia to find the best way to resolve their disputes.

Get help from the court without filing a formal court case?
Clients who call CIRP get help in learning about the options available both through the court and through other community venues. Clients will learn about other community services that may be of help as well as the mediation process within the court. Many mediations do not require a formal court case.

Get services through the Community Information and Referral Program?
We are located in Court Building C, at 410 E Street, NW Room 1700

If you would prefer to telephone before coming to the courthouse, please call (202) 879-3180 during business hours and ask to speak with a Dispute Resolution Specialist.

Get help without traveling to the courthouse, or access Green Resolution?
DC residents can save themselves a trip to the courthouse and help out the environment by accessing our Green Resolution options: telephone intake and conciliation. Parties do not need to use any form of transportation to take advantage of the service, thereby reducing gas consumption and CO2 emissions. Similarly, the process minimizes paper use, because no court forms need to be filed.

Call our offices at (202) 879-3180 to talk with a Dispute Resolution Specialist and get a start on resolving your problems the Green Resolution way.

Access help with a dispute in Spanish?
You may walk-in to CIRP or call (202) 879-3180 to speak with a Spanish-speaking Dispute Resolution Specialist or to communicate through a Spanish interpreter.

CIRP also provides a Dispute Resolution Clinic at the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. You must call CARECEN at (202) 328-9799 to make an appointment before coming to the clinic. CARECEN is located at 1460 Columbia Road NW.
